Where Spool came from

I shoot film, and for a long time I was looking for an app where I could simply take care of my analog photos — convert the negatives, keep the rolls in order and have it all in one place. I think I tried everything out there. Something was always off, and a lot of them were just plugins for other software.

So in the end I thought: I'll build it myself.

My day job, for many years now, is Product Designer — I design management systems and apps. So this is exactly the kind of thing I do anyway, just usually for someone else. This time I made it for me.

Spool gets pretty much every free afternoon I have. It's still in beta, so not everything is perfect yet — and that's exactly why your opinion matters to me. If something's missing, something bugs you, or you have an idea for what could be in here, just write. I'm happy to talk about it.
